Description Lobby Chair
The Lobby Chair consists of three cushions that are connected to each other by means of metal side pieces. The chair was designed in three versions. The Lobby Chair ES 104, ES 105 and ES 108. The ES 104, is a swivel version on hard wheels for soft floors, also available with soft castors for a harder floor. The ES104 can also be tilted backwards and can be adjusted by means of a gas spring.
The ES 105 is a low-wide chair which is often used for waiting areas. The ES108 is a conference chair. All versions of the Lobby Chair have perfect seating comfort. The Vitra Lobby Chair is on a five-star base.
The entire chair is made of cast aluminum. The cushions are covered with a good quality leather.
History designers Lobby chair
Charles and Ray Eames married together in 1941. Together they designed stretchers and leg splints from formed plywood. In 1946, their designs were exhibited at the New York Museum of Modern Art. The designers Charles and Ray have won several awards in their lives as designers. They were the most important designers of the twentieth century. In 1964 they received an honorary doctorate from the Pratt Institute in New York. In 1977 they won the AIA Twenty-Five Year Award, in 1979 the Royal Gold Medal and finally in 1985 the prize for "the most influential designer of the 20th century" (IDSA). In the year 1978 Charles Eames died in St. Louis. Exactly ten years later, in 1988, Ray died.
Both Charles and Ray have had a major influence on the success of Vitra and still today. The design furniture remains very popular.

The manufacturer of the Lobby Chair is Vitra (Vitra Campus). The head office is in Birsfelden, which is located in Switzerland. The design furniture is produced in Baden-Württemberg in Germany in the municipality of Weil am Rhein.
