Origin design

The LC series was originally designed in 1928 for the design of Villa Kerk project by Le Corbusier. The LC3 was created in 1929 when Le Corbusier presented the furniture set at the Autumn Salon in Paris.

Design LC3

The Cassina LC3 bank is available in a two or three-seater sofa. The LC3 Sofa and LC3 armchair are made of a steel tube cage frame in which cushions are placed. The cushions form the seat, backrest and armrest together. A very comfortable combination due to the deep backrest and the soft polyurethane foam cushions.

Description LC3

Cassina LC3 is the largest model of the LC collection and has armrests, a designer chair with a lot of comfort. The LC3 is larger than the LC2 and therefore makes it a lovely comfortable large seat. The design of the LC3 was fairly simple, but the production was very complex. The steel tubes for the frame had to be bent first. In the twenties this was almost an impossible process. For optimum support, the cushions of the seat, armrests and backrest had to be filled with foam sufficiently. The LC series is a perfect combination of a tight rectangular circumference of a metal frame and extremely comfortable thanks to the cushions.

Manufacturer LC3

Cassina was founded in 1929 near Milan. The LC3 bank is the largest object of the LC collection by Italian manufacturer Cassina. Because the LC series has become so well known and popular because of the unique functionality of the design, it is copied a lot.
The original design models have a Cassina stamp, the logo of the manufacturer. In addition, the signature of the author and on each design piece of the LC series there is an identification number in relief.

Craft or industrial

At the Cassina manufacturer, the production process is carried out industrially, but the craft is always at the center. It is a production process with a combination of handicraft and modern machine work. Fabric and leather are controlled in the manual process and for the precise shapes the material is cut with the computer-controlled cutting technique.
Verification of authenticity and production line

Because a barcode is used on every piece of furniture, the production process can be carefully controlled at various stages.
